Here we go!!

The site was upped on Friday, the 23rd of February, 2007. The goal for now is to become the explainer site for all things Unix. The focus is not on the what but on the why and how. For example, knowing that what ls -l does is a what. Knowing that ls -l displays such and such information because the information is necessary for the following reasons is the how.

I'm really sick of sites that just displays commands and expects the reader to mindlessly type them like some sort of drone. It's time to make a site where people are shown the many paths that Unix allows and tells them why one option is chosen over the other.

The initial goal of the site is an expanded man page listing. Man pages are a great example of just throwing information without explaining the best way to make use of it. The focus of this initial project will be adding explanation an additional examples to the pages.
